India are likely to test their bench strength for the remainder of the tour while the Kiwis will hope for a better showing in the final two ODIs against India on the road to the World Cup, after being outclassed in the first three games.
In some more cricket news from the Indian tour of New Zealand, batting all-rounder Daryl Mitchell and fast bowler Blair Tickner have earned their maiden call-ups to the New Zealand squad for the T20I series against India. While Daryl Mitchell has been included for all the three games, Blair Tickner will join the squad for the third T20I, replacing Lockie Ferguson. Kane Williamson will captain New Zealand. Henry Nicholls, who was the stand-in captain against Sri Lanka recently, has been left out along with Glenn Phillips and Seth Rance. Trent Boult has again been granted some rest as a part of his workload management.
